Interpreter Services

What language do you speak at home? If you need an interpreter, we can help!

To help you communicate with your health care team, you can ask to have an interpreter at your appointments. Please ensure this is arranged before coming to the cancer centre for your appointment.

It is important that you and your family are able to ask questions and get answers about your health in your own language.

CancerCare Manitoba can arrange to have a trained Health Interpreter from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) at your appointments who:

  • Can come to your appointment or help over-the-phone
  • Are available for many languages including sign and indigenous languages
  • Can help you ask about your treatment, attend counselling and more

There is no cost to patients for interpreters. Ask your Health Care Provider for information on the Language Access program.

CCMB has also translated some treatment and care information along with symptoms and side effects into a variety of languages. Some are also available in audio format.
