Psychosocial Oncology, within Patient and Family Support Services, consists of a multidisciplinary team of social workers, clinical counsellors, and psychiatrists who provide assessment and counselling services to patients and families of CancerCare Manitoba. Education, research, and community program development are also significant activities within the department. This position will provide clinical counselling services to individuals, families, and groups at CancerCare Manitoba.



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in social work, clinical counselling, psychology or associated disciplines (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • A clinical internship/field placement from an accredited program
  • Minimum of three years’ of clinical counselling/consultation experience
  • Registration or eligibility for registration by an appropriate licensing body
  • Experience with building relationships and working in collaborative partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must hold a satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada


  • Clinical counselling/consultation experience in a health care environment
  • Ability to speak French

Salary: As per MAHCP Collective Agreement
