CancerCare Manitoba located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is a provincial agency which provides clinical and academic services and leadership for cancer control and the treatment of blood disorders. We invite applications for the position of:
Under the supervision of the Epidemiology Lead, the SAS Programmer Analyst participates in developing and implementing computer programs to extract, compile, and analyze cancer-related data. The incumbent also assists members of other departments in their research activities which involve cancer-related data, particularly that from the Manitoba Cancer Registry and Manitoba Health.
Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree in statistics, computer science or related fields plus 3 years of directly related work experience
Must have detailed knowledge of SAS (demonstrated abilities involving data linkage, data manipulation, and use of procedures for statistical analysis).
Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written are required.
Physical and mental health to fulfil the responsibilities of the position
Satisfactory employment record
Must be able to work legally in Canada
Familiarity with epidemiological concepts and administrative databases are assets.
Experience working with other statistical languages (R, STAT A) is an asset.
Master's degree in a directly related study area such as demography, quantitative social sciences, statistics or community health sciences
Ability to speak French
