The Patient Services Coordinator is a member of the Department of Nursing Leadership Team. The Patient Services Coordinator reports to the Director of Nursing or Manager delegate and works collaboratively with the Unit Managers. The incumbent will provide assistance to the department to ensure that the physical, operational and supportive human resources for departmental services are identified, organized, coordinated and maintained. Under the direction of the Director and Managers, the Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for leading, planning, and organizing activities/ operations/ services provided by the Department team. This position is shared between all CancerCare Manitoba sites. The incumbent must be flexible to start times, be willing to travel, and have their own transportation.



  • Completion of Business Administration or Health Services Management Program. A combination of education and experience may be considered as determined by CancerCare Manitoba.
  • Proof of successful completion of 40s English course or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with respect to clinical operations
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and internet use
  • Must have a valid class 5 drivers’ license and the ability to travel between Winnipeg sites. Applicant must have a reliable vehicle for use during working hours
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

  • Previous experience with inventory control (maintaining and ordering of supplies)
  • Previous experience with budgets, spreadsheets, and risk management
  • Understanding of CancerCare Manitoba’s clinical operations

Minimum Language Requirements:

Applicants whose first language* is not English and who have not successfully completed a Manitoba Grade 12 40S English course or equivalent will be required to meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:

TOEFL- a minimum of 550 (CBT-213) on the PBT (Paper-Based Test), or a minimum of 213 on the CBT (Computer-Based Test), or a minimum of 79-80 on the IBT (Internet-Based Test)

CanTest - a minimum band level of 4.5 in Reading and Listening, and 4.0 in Speaking and Writing

IEL TS - a minimum band of 6.5 in Reading, Listening, and Speaking, and a minimum of 6.0 in Writing

MELAB - a minimum final score of 80 with a minimum of 77 in Writing

CAEL- a minimum overall result of 60 with a minimum of 60 in Writing

Successful completion of AEPUCE (Academic English Program for University and College Entrance) offered through the University of Manitoba and Red River College
