Overview:

Reporting to the Screening Programs Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical tasks, supportive functions for clients, staff and the department in an efficient and effective manner.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Must have English 40s or equivalent*
  • Experience with database management and word processing
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to stressful situations in a high-pace environment
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a positive member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Works with a high level of confidentiality
  • Must have a satisfactory employment record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

Will be assessed during the testing process:

  • Data entry speed and accuracy of 10,000 keystrokes per hour (40 wpm), with less than 1% error rate

 

 

 

Asset:

  • Experience in a healthcare clinical environment, involving interaction with patients and the public
  • Graduation of recognized medical terminology course or equivalent
  • Experience with electronic patient charts (CHIPS), and word processing including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet
  • Knowledge of Population Health and Screening Programs
  • Experience working with Screening Programs
  • Ability to speak French

Salary: As per CUPE Collective Agreement - Start Hourly Rate $17.309

Minimum Language Requirements:

Applicants whose first language* is not English and who have not successfully completed a Manitoba Grade 12 40S English course or equivalent will be required to meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:

TOEFL- a minimum of 550 (CBT-213) on the PBT (Paper-Based Test), or a minimum of 213 on the CBT (Computer-Based Test), or a minimum of 79-80 on the IBT (Internet-Based Test)

CanTest - a minimum band level of 4.5 in Reading and Listening, and 4.0 in Speaking and Writing

IEL TS - a minimum band of 6.5 in Reading, Listening, and Speaking, and a minimum of 6.0 in Writing

MELAB - a minimum final score of 80 with a minimum of 77 in Writing

CAEL- a minimum overall result of 60 with a minimum of 60 in Writing

Successful completion of AEPUCE (Academic English Program for University and College Entrance) offered through the University of Manitoba and Red River College
