CancerCare Manitoba located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is a provincial agency which provides clinical and academic services and leadership for cancer control and the treatment of blood disorders. We invite applications for the position of:
Reporting to the Department of Nursing Administrative Officer, the Secretary III will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Department of Nursing members. The incumbent duties include dealing with patients, general public, and health professionals. Preparing, organizing, and maintaining various types of scheduling calendars, including electronic calendars, organize mail, and enter data. General duties include but are not limited to; ordering and tracking of all departmental supplies, work orders and maintenance requests; updating and maintaining various databases (i.e. staff information lists, vacation planning, staff appointments, and scheduling and staffing changes). The incumbent has the ability to coordinate workflow and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions; must exercise sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, and be willing to assume a variety of assignments as required. The candidate must be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently or in a team setting with minimal supervision and be capable of carrying out the duties of this position with diplomacy, tact and professionalism. The successful incumbent must have the flexibility to move between the CancerCare Manitoba Winnipeg sites.
Successful completion of a recognized administrative or secretarial training program or equivalent in education and experience as determined by CancerCare Manitoba
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior secretarial position
Proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and internet use
Satisfactory employment record
Must be able to legally work in Canada
Will be assessed during the interview process:

Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to stressful situations
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Will be assessed during the testing process:
Written communication skills with a score of 70% higher on the composition writing test
Computer keyboarding skills of 40 wpm with high degree of accuracy
Ability to speak French
Previous experience within a health care setting
Proficiency in Medical Terminology
Previous experience with inventory control (Maintaining and ordering of supplies)
Salary: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
