A Celebration of Canada's Medical Radiation Technologists

Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs) across Canada will be commemorated for their work during Medical Radiation Technologists? Week, November 3-9, 2013. MRT Week raises awareness about this powerful area of healthcare to increase understanding of the contributions of the professionals involved in the clinical applications of medical radiation technology. These professions include X-ray, CT scanning, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapy. You can find MRTs in hospitals and clinics from coast to coast, on the battlefields wherever the Canadian Forces are deployed, and in the dressing rooms of our professional sport teams. If you have ever had a diagnostic image, or have been treated for cancer using radiation therapy, then you have met an MRT!

At CancerCare Manitoba you will meet Radiation Therapists. These specialized MRTs play a vital role in the planning, administration, and educational support aspect of radiation therapy for cancer treatment. Celebrate MRT Week with us and learn more by visiting our provincial website at
