The Reduce Your Risk DVD is a 23 minute video that reviews the risk factors for cancer and offers steps one can take to reduce the risk of cancer. Breast, cervical, colon cancer screening is highlighted. The DVD is subtitled in English and is available with audio in English, French and 15 additional languages. Watch the video online at the link below or borrow at your local library.

The videos can be viewed on this web site by clicking on the link in the menu below. The DVD can also be ordered by contacting any one of the screening programs.

Breast Cancer Breast cancer is the most common kind of cancer found in Manitoba women. You cannot control many of the things that put you at risk for breast cancer (increasing age, family history, breast density, starting your periods early, starting menopause late). This video talks about the things you can control:
  • eating a healthy diet
  • maintaining a healthy weight
  • being physically active
  • having regular mammograms once you turn 50, or when you and your health care provider decide you should start
In the video, you will see how a mammogram is done. You will also learn how finding breast cancer early could save your life.
Cervical Cancer Cervical cancer is one of the most easily preventable cancers. Regular screening with Pap tests can reduce the incidence and deaths from cervical cancer by at least 80%. This video discusses:
  • risk reduction for cervical cancer
  • Pap test procedures
  • frequency of Pap tests
  • abnormal results
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
  • the HPV vaccine
Colon Cancer

Colon Cancer is the second most common cancer in Manitoba. Did you know that colon cancer screening can save lives? The time to check is before symptoms start.
