Colon Cancer Screening

  • is for people who have no symptoms of colon cancer
  • can help find cancer early when treatment may be more effective
  • can help prevent colon cancer, by finding and treating polyps before they develop into cancer

What is a home screening test?

It is a test that looks for hidden blood in the stool (poop). It is also called a Fecal Occult Blood Test or FOBT. It is a simple test that you do in your own bathroom.

You place samples of your stool on a test card and send it to the lab where it is checked for hidden blood.

Blood may be a sign of polyps or colon cancer.
