Prevention and Screening
Task Force on Preventive Health Care Guidelines
What can our patients do to reduce their risk of getting cancer or to improve their chance of detecting it early?
The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care has done evidence based reviews and given ratings to a variety of prevention and screening "maneuvers". This handy card is a collaborative effort between UPCON, the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, and the Manitoba Breast Screening Program.
Cancer Screening Programs in Manitoba
CancerCare Manitoba oversees provincial screening programs in breast, cervical and colorectal cancer.
Check out the links in the box to the right to learn more about these three exemplary screening programs and the resources available for community physicians and patients.

The decision aids in the box can help with this discussion.
