Radiation Therapy Program Description

 


  • The program consists of a 28-month diploma program in radiation therapy
  • All courses and clinical placements are offered at CancerCare Manitoba, with the possibility of short placements at the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre in Brandon.
  • Program offers both classroom and hands-on clinical placements, scheduled in blocks of time.

  • Please refer to the Red River College website (www.rrc.mb.ca) for more information on the current 28 month diploma program including pre-requisite requirements.
  • This is a competency based program, therefore courses include the concepts and theories behind radiation therapy (including physics, radiation biology and protection and imaging), patient care and professional practice. In clinical placements students work side-by-side with practicing radiation therapists to learn the skills and attitudes required to be successful in this career.
