The Epidemiology Unit of CancerCare Manitoba is dedicated to providing data analysis and statistical support to investigators interested in using health information from the Manitoba Cancer Registry, as well as other linkable data sources. The Unit has knowledgeable and skillful staff who can work with health researchers in study design and in the pre-data collection phases to ensure comprehensive/appropriate data capture. The Epidemiology Unit supports research by providing investigators with assistance with the following analytical services:

• Descriptive statistics
• Statistical inference (hypothesis tests, confidence intervals, etc.)
• Modeling (linear, non-linear, mixture, ANOVA, etc.)
• Sample size and power calculation
• Cancer incidence, prevalence, mortality, survival
• Interpretation of results

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain approval from CancerCare Manitoba Research and Resource Impact Committee (RRIC), the University of Manitoba Research Ethics Board (REB), and Manitoba Health and Healthy Living (MHHL) Health Information Privacy Committee [(HIPC) required only if using MHHL data].
