The Clinical Research Professional, Ethics & Regulatory Affairs coordinates ethical, scientific, and operational reviews of clinical trials for the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB). Responsibilities include study feasibility review and preparing protocols for review by various groups such as University of Manitoba Research Ethics Board, CancerCare Manitoba Research Resource Impact Committee, Health Sciences Research Impact Committee, and the St. Boniface Hospital Research Review Committee. Ensures that new studies, revisions, amendments, and safety alerts are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines. Ensures that all regulatory requirements for Health Canada and the US Food and Drug Administration are met. Communicates with CCMB researchers and study sponsors on a regular basis. Sets up and maintains study files. Participates in the accomplishment of CCMB organizational goals and CTU objectives. Maintains standards of excellence in the clinical trial management. Overtime may be required. Flexibility to move between the McDermot and St. Boniface sites is essential.



  • Health Information Technologist/Health Information Management Diploma or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education in a health care field plus research-related experience may be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Professional and ethical behaviour in workplace
  • Holds a satisfactory employment record

  • Clinical research experience with the adult population
  • Ethics and regulatory affairs experience with the adult population
  • Experience working in oncology
  • Health Information Managers who are certified in clinical research (e.g. SoCRA or ACRP)

  • Experience working in paediatrics or blood and marrow transplant clinical trials
  • Experience working or volunteering in a health-care environment
  • Experience with ARIA (electronic patient record), and electronic data entry applications

Salary: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
