CancerCare Manitoba is the provincial agency responsible for cancer control and blood disorders, including prevention, early detection, care and treatment, research, palliation and education throughout Manitoba. We invite applications for the position of:
Oncology Nurse II - FLOAT The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients over the spectrum of the oncology experience: assessment, intervention, treatment administration and follow-up in the ambulatory setting. The Oncology Nurse will participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions. Knowledge of and significant experience with oncology care is required. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills are essential. Understanding of patient-centered care, ability to work within a teamwork framework and commitment to ongoing professional development, leadership and self development are assets needed to fulfill the role of the Oncology Nurse. Variable schedule may be required. Qualifications: Current registration with CRNM. Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred. CON(C) an asset. Current BLS required. Minimum of three (3) years experience within settings such as med/surg, inpatient oncology or ambulatory care preferred. Evidence of excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.
